  • One and a half teaspoon of (black pepper – paprika)
  • 1/2 teaspoon each of (thyme – cinnamon – curry – turmeric – chili)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of lemon salt or lemon juice
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • Two cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • chicken stock cube (optional)

How to make chicken shawarma with yogurt

  • Take 1 kilogram of chicken breast or thigh slices, clean them well, then cut them in the form of fingers or cubes
  • In a deep bowl, put the yogurt, vinegar, oil, soy sauce, oil, pomegranate molasses, tomato paste, minced garlic and all the spices, and stir well until all the ingredients of the marinade are combined.
  • Put the shawarma marinade on the chicken pieces, cover it and leave it in the fridge for about two hours (the longer the chicken is soaked in the marinade, the better the result).
  • Put two tablespoons of oil in a saucepan over high heat until hot
